#17 (Week 7) Social Networking

My daughter has used MySpace when she was on holiday to Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. Every night she will upload her photos taken during the day and also write about her day on her space and I can look at the photos and read her diary of what she did that day. I found it really good as I get to see the photos as soon as she has uploaded them and I can be updated of her travels and going ons daily.

Seems that Facebook is now being used by many of my daughters' friends and our relatives Facebook seems to have taken over the social networking role for us nowadays.

Lots of students use Bebo and we see them in the library all the time.

#14 (Week 6) Tagging, folksonomies & social bookmarking on Del.icio.us

I have signed up on social bookmarking website and my url is http://delicious.com/pustaka. This means that I can access my bookmarks not only at home but on any computer, this is very useful and eliminates the need to remember all the addresses of the blogs and websites that I like to peruse.

#13 (Week 5) Learning 2.0 sandbox wiki

I have looked at the pbwiki and added my blog to the list of favourite blogs and also included a picture of my favourite chinesefood.

Week 5 - Wikis

Whenever I google something I'm not familiar with, I can usually find a good explanation on wikipedia. It contains information anyone can edit or contribute, all information has to be referenced or they will be removed. However not all information on the intenet is accurate.

A website which I found very useful is http://www.howstuffworks.com/. Do have a look at this website, search for blogging and the explanations on this website is set out simple and easy to understand.

Fish Spa

During the 2nd Term school holidays on the trip to Malaysia, I had the opportunity of getting a fish spa. The little fishes are eating the dead skin on my feet and it feels really nice. Never had so many photos been taken of my feet :) Paid M$30 (NZ$12) for 15 mins, was well worth it.

Back from Adelaide

Just come back from Adelaide and where does a librarian go to visit? The local libraries of course. Also used the internet to check and send emails. The Pharos system is used there too.
